The Ravenna-based company presented environmental mitigation projects that, thanks also to digital media, will help tackle the serious infrastructural damage caused by climate change
Cotignola (RA), 06 October 2022 – Correct and targeted maintenance of motorway greenery can defuse the damaging consequences that climate change inflicts on Italian and international infrastructure on a daily basis. This is the summary
of the speech given today by Pietro Torchi Lucifora, General Manager of Ecogest SpA at the 4th World Conference on Sustainable Mobility, promoted by the International Road Federation in Marrakech, Morocco. With him at the international conference was also the
CEO of Ecogest, Michela Nanni.
Institutional speakers from 20 countries, representing 4 continents, were
discussed climate change issues. Ecogest represented the only company
European motorway green services invited to the prestigious event.
In addition to showing what consequences climate change has on the integrity of transport infrastructures Ecogest, together with the creators of the Kassandra software, illustrated how concrete action can be taken to curb these negative effects by modifying the
maintenance programmes. “This is,” said Valerio Molinari, Ecogest Spa’s main shareholder, “the continuation of a project and an intuition that started three years ago: to study the effects of climate change on the infrastructure of
transport, combining our 50 years of experience on the road with a new scientific approach that determines not only reliable analyses, but also credible solutions. A path that has allowed us to be recognised today as a player and one of the most prestigious
world study and analysis of the infrastructural consequences of climate change’.
