Highway operators from 20 European countries met in Lisbon for the first edition of the “Sustainability Forum” organized by Asecap, the European Association of Highway Concessionaires.
The experience of the Climate Change Study Center, created by Valerio Molinari with his family holding company Greenway srl, which has grown thanks to the scientific collaboration with the “Kassandra” project, was the focus of the afternoon session of the Forum.
Valerio Molinari and Antonio Stornello explained to the distinguished international audience how the impact of climate change on transportation infrastructure can be devastating and how a new approach, including maintenance, is important to limit its effects.
“It was an experience that confirmed the prestige and quality of our work,” said Molinari, “thanks to our ability to combine important scientific findings, supported by the Kassandra software, with the fifty years of experience that our subsidiary Ecogest SpA has accumulated on highways throughout Europe. The decision to share the result of the processing of the data obtained during our studies is based on the awareness that we are facing a real emergency for the planet, in which all players in the infrastructure system are called to play their part”.
